The expression “AながらB” is used to describe two actions being performed at the same time.

Incorrect Usage of “A ながら B”
“A ながら B” is a sentence pattern used to describe a situation in which two actions are being performed at the same time, the following incorrect usage should be noted.
Non-verbs are used
例: 元気ながら、仕事に行きました。 (×)
本ながら、友達と遊びました。 (×)
Verb is not appropriate
例: 走るながら、音楽を聴きました。 (×)
走りながら、音楽を聴きました。 (○)
It is important to correctly combine two actions that should take place at the same time.
Also note the combination of verbs that are never done at the same time.
For example, “歩きながら、走りました。(I ran while walking.)” is not appropriate.
